The Legionnaire is an ARRTEMIS signals-intelligence operative whose presence is easier to detect in altered records than in the field. He specializes in communications interception, encrypted networks, surveillance, and the removal of digital trails.
ARRTEMIS assigned him to observe and track Sayaka-san, a corporate fixer whose movements had become increasingly difficult to map. Somewhere during that assignment, surveillance became something else. Telemetry disappeared. Tracking records became unreliable. Surveillance feeds developed gaps that could not be explained by ordinary system failure.
Evidence suggests the Legionnaire began deliberately concealing Sayaka’s movements from the very organization that had ordered him to find her.
The two later maintained a private encrypted channel beyond normal ARRTEMIS oversight. What passed between them remains inaccessible, though surviving fragments suggest a relationship built on mutual recognition, guarded intimacy, and an understanding neither could safely acknowledge in public.
Records concerning the Legionnaire’s life before ARRTEMIS are contradictory. Some archives describe prior service as a deep-cover field operative; others contain gaps, overwritten credentials, or histories whose provenance cannot be verified. Whether these inconsistencies are the result of institutional secrecy, deliberate counterintelligence, or the Legionnaire himself remains unknown.
His present status is classified.
